About the event
This journey is personal for me, the host, Michelle Wedderburn. After making the decision to end my marriage in early 2022 while living in a foreign country, I chose myself and my child over fear of the unknown. I chose us in order to discover the strength that has always been within. The idea of this retreat was and is one of pure alignment with my current life. I remember thinking "I want to wake up to something powerful every morning that reminds me of who I Am. I want to walk by it several times a day and feel it hug my spirit, warm me, and give me the strength to continue to Be Me. This project has become the vehicle, the catalyst of all that 2023 holds and beyond. Peace Not Pieces Retreat is the support you need to bounce back from emotional traumas, relationships that have damaged or broken you and the space you need to reflect, begin the healing process and exhale. This retreat will provide you with an unforgettable week of (re)bonding with yourself through Creative Art Sessions, Self Reflection Workshops, Body Movement, Sound Therapy, Reset methods and Self Care.

About the Workshop Facilitators:
Kate Vandoren
Kate Van Doren (American, b.1978) explores human resiliency, connection, and the healing power of nature in her work. As an art therapist working in the mental health field for more than two decades, Kate offers a unique lens, cultivating connections with her inspirations to foster their stories about the human condition. She is deeply devoted to creating art that raises healing awareness in the lives of others. With contemporary realism we capture, expose, and explore the boundaries of the human condition. A strength based narrative dialogue integrated into the art making process can help organize and shape how others see themselves in an empowering way. The goal is to offer both my inspirations and viewers an experience of the human connection to their natural world. I am deeply dedicated to the healing capacity of art and nature in the lives of others.
